From No Experience to Operations Manager: My Career Journey as a Full-Time Working Mum
When I joined the company over five years ago, I had no experience in financial services. I was starting fresh, full of questions, and unsure of where this path would lead. Today, I’m proud to say I’m the Operations Manager overseeing both our IFA and Mortgages teams. It’s been an incredible journey—one shaped by growth, support, and balance.
As a mum to two young children, flexibility has always been a top priority for me. I’ve learned that with the right support system, it’s absolutely possible to grow a successful career while being present for your family. That’s exactly what this company has given me.
From day one, I’ve felt backed—not just in my role, but in my goals. The support I received to complete my exams and gain qualifications was second to none. The opportunities to develop, take on more responsibility, and grow into leadership have come from a workplace that believes in nurturing talent, no matter your starting point.
One of the most valuable aspects of working here is the flexible working model. It means I can manage school runs, family time, and work commitments without constant compromise. I’ve been able to be there for my children and still advance in a career I love. That kind of balance is rare—and so appreciated.
When I had my son, the enhanced maternity pay helped ease a stressful time and allowed me to focus on my family. That level of care and understanding isn’t just a policy here—it’s part of the culture.
Family truly matters in this company. And because of that, I’ve never had to choose between being a mum and being ambitious.
If you’re looking for a place where your personal and professional life are equally supported—whether you’re experienced or just starting out—this is the place for you. The opportunity is real, the support is genuine, and the future is wide open.
